From time to time the volcano spews out magma rocks, each with the same six symbols on. The six red codestones are as follows: Cui Codestone, Kew Codestone, Mag Codestone, Sho Codestone, Vux Codestone and Zed Codestone, but you must collect the normal codestones and train a pet past level before you can advance to the volcano with your red codestones.

The prices of codestones are always changing. During neopian wars and plots, the prices of codestones will rise by a few thousand due to the rush of neopets preparing for battle. There was also a period of time where codestones were very cheap when they were handed out as prizes to the now-defunct Key Quest game. You should be able to find codestones with similar values by using the Shop Wizard.
